Template:Cardinal of Catholic Church

I introduced this template to apply in cardinals' pages. You can see a demonstration on the page of cardinal Camillo Ruini and Angelo Bagnasco. Intense yellow

Is it possible for a woman who has married a divorced man to continue to accept and partake in sacraments? I don't know why you think we'd be able to answer this question. If you are the teacher in question, please ask your pastor to refer you to your diocesan tribunal. If you are not, please consider that the particulars of such a case likely involve matters of the internal forum, and you're not likely to ever get an answer to your question. I can't answer the question above, so I agree with the previous reply, ask your pastor. I will make the following general points, for later readers:

• Whether you are single, married, divorced, obtained an decree of annulment is a matter of public record. This is the external forum. (at least in the US)
• To marry someone while married to someone else -- that is, not having obtained a decree of annulment, and aware of the law of the Church on this -- is an objectively sinful act, and places one in an objective state of sin which requires repentance and living apart from the second spouse, pending obtaining an annulment of the prior marriage, before returning to the altar to receive Holy Communion.
• Whether or not someone is within the process of obtaining an annulment, received absolution, living apart, etc. is a matter of the internal forum, i.e. private.
• People who hold a significant post in a Catholic primary school should be practicing the Catholic faith in public and private, be free from scandal, and public sin. patsw (talk) 15:35, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Evangelization article

Just wanted to bring to attention the wikipedia articles evangelization and evangelism and ask what others think about the question. Should they be merged? If so, should evangelism be merged with evangelization or vice-versa? At the moment evangelization is only a stub because I haven't had the time to develop it. But seeing that the current evangelism article is POV in a protestant evangelical sense, if evangelization were to be merged with evangelism I believe that some people should be interested in helping straighten out the evangelism article so that it would be more NPOV and equally acceptable by evangelicals and catholics. Naming the parts of a Catholic Church building

I am trying to learn the names of various features of a typical Catholic Church building. These include the altar, sanctuary, Narthex, etc. I have been unable to find an article that addresses this. New Article on Elizabeth Scalia

I just added an entry on the U.S. Roman Catholic writer Elizabeth Scalia, and a 'bot has already come along to question its sourcing (which includes CBS, NPR, First Things, and Patheos, along with a local Catholic Channel in New York). I put it on my watchlist. It does need more sourcing from independent, third-party sources, but I don't think that's a reason it should be deleted, at least now. Why is list of popes (graphical) is deleted and redirected?

I am sorry if this is a wrong place to ask this question. But I want to know why List of popes (graphical) is blanked and redirected to List of popes article when the majority of are against it.

Reviewing the history only one person User:Sottolacqua is repeatedly deleting it. Should I revert it or can some one please help me in this regard?

Monasticism

Interesting .... There is no link from the Catholicism portal to the whole field of Christian monasticism. There is a monasticism portal on the French wikipedia, but not even a link into that field here. In case I just missed it, I tried visiting hte page on Cistercians first, then tracing links back up to here (or to ANYwhere) but no luck. The two areas do not connect. That is telling, in so many ways.... The article on Monasticism tries to cover the whole gamut of this form of religious expression, including the monasticism practised by other faiths such as Tibetan Buddhism. So, there is something sorely lacking here. We need a category for Catholic monastic orders and a listing linking to all of them and then from them backlinking to here. Theological Titles Template

I'd like to try to develop something for this portal for the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Of course colors would be Yellow and Red for the most part to represent The Vatican. Anyone interested?

I strongly doubt its usefulness. What is theological about the title of "cardinal"? or of "monsignor"? Perhaps the only theological ranks (ordines in Latin) are bishop, priest (presbyter), and deacon. As for titles and offices, there may be hundreds: I have added some generic ones – only some. If you were to add particular titles, those concerning a particular place, they must be in their hundreds of thousands. Esoglou (talk) 15:05, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

I also noticed "Friar" could be added, but I am unsure as to where to put it. I know that a Catholic Church locally has a Friar handling operations, Friar but I am unsure how it would be organized in order next to "Priest" and so forth. Twillisjr (talk) 12:09, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

So I just wanted to get clarifications on a few things:

1. the order of these titles, they appear to roughly by rank/status, is that correct?
2. is it possible to separate out the more commonly used titles from the historic/extra-ordinary titles into two or more sections?
3. can the template have a show/hide feature for each separate section, and be hidden by default (see template:Eastern Christianity, template:LDSpolygamy, template:Anthropology of kinship & Template:Close relationships for examples)?
4. with the sections hidden, could the box be formatted to match the width of template:Eastern Christianity, since they are both found on several of these articles?

Hello brethren, the folks over at the Church of England/Anglican Church is engaging in what I believe to be historical revisionism, trying to date back the Church of England to the time of Augustine - but we all know that this was the Catholic Church in England. What I'm trying to say guys, is that not only did King Henry VIII steal the Catholic Church's assets in England - but they're now trying to rewrite history to say that the Church of England long dates back to Augustine. It would be highly advised that to encourage WP:NPOV and to avoid WP:COI, a few people hop over there to provide some assistance. Read WP:CAN. This request is inappropriate, and it would be inappropriate to respond to it. Neither of the contradictory views on the matter (which have been expressed by a comparison with washing your face on the one hand, and even as due to a personal propensity of Henry VIII on the other) can be put forward in Wikipedia's voice. Ideally, the poster of the request should immediately autorevert. I would delete the request myself, but would like first to know I have support. The Church of England, as an ecclesial institution does date back to St. Augustine of Canterbury just as the current French Catholic church dates back to St. Irenaeus and St. Germanus etc. The separation from the Church of Rome occurred in the 16th century but the church had been around for more than 1,000 years. Moreover, any and all editions have to be based on cited works that themselves are reliable. Your opinion is not a reliable source to be cited as it is entirely subjective. • Very weak oppose, Chicbyaccident's intent is good, but I don't think is is necessary. This is not as much a front-facing page like an article... this is a portal, which is very heavy in terms of subpages. Doing done some portal moves recently, there is usually a tremendous amount of cleanup on subpages to be done post-move. To both of the above: that is part of the issue at stake: that Catholicism, as Wikipedia puts it, isn't exactly the same thing as the Catholic Church. Thus the two votes about I suppose should be interpretated as that two different portals would do, if we are to maintain this one under its current name.
