Jai Prakash Verma

Jai Prakash Verma was a member of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Gandey Assembly constituency.[1]

He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 2023. He was a suspended by the JMM during the 2024 general election when he contested as an independent against the alliance candidate from CPI(ML)L Vinod Singh in Koderma PC and supported the BJP candidate Dilip Kumar against Kalpana Soren in the Gandey Assembly by-election.[2][3]

Verma is a nephew of Rati Lal Prasad Verma, the six time Member of Indian Parliament from Kodarma PC and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh veteran.[4][5]
