Durian is an Indian furniture store chain that manufactures ply, laminates, veneers to sofas, chairs, beds, tables and residential interiors. It is headquartered in Mumbai, India.[1]

History[edit]

During the British Raj, L.N. Dokania under the employment of the Birla family, pioneered the plywood industry in India, started furniture business. In 1981, Sajjan Dokania expanded the business by establishing Durian and in 1985, launched its first plywood division. In 1988, a timber-peeling plant was installed at Wada in Maharashtra.[2]

As of 2022, Durian was delivering to over seven thousand Postal Index Numbers in India.[1]
