YellowfinBI is a Business Intelligence Software vendor headquartered in Austin, Texas, specializing in Embedded Analytics solutions.

YellowfinBI was founded in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, by Glenn Rabie and Justin Hewitt, with Glenn Rabie as CEO, and launched global operations in 2008.

In 2011 Yellowfin launched a partnership with UK-based BI company DSCallards, later acquired by Codestone, to make Yellowfin’s BI solutions available to DSCallards customers.

In 2014 YellowfinBI supplied the software behind BMC’s Smart Reporting ITSM solution.

In 2016 YellowfinBI partnered with Volpara Health to develop medical screening solutions. In March of 2017 YellowfinBI partnered with global shipping and mailing company Pitney Bowes to deliver a business intelligence tool for Pitney Bowes customers.

In 2022 YellowfinBI was acquired by Idera Corporation, a private software company with brands providing data tools, developer tools and DevOps tools. YellowfinBI retained its brand identity.[1]

Platform[edit]

Yellowfin BI is a Business Intelligence Platform built on a scalable Java core with JavaScript UX. Yellowfin BI works with data in existing sources, including JDBC compliant databases such as SQLServer, Oracle, Exasol, Snowflake, Redshift, XML/A compliant cubes such as Microsoft Analysis Services, SAP BW, Oracle Essbase, CSV files (which are then loaded in to a relational database), and third-party sources including applications like Salesforce.com and Google Analytics.
