Wonderland is a 2023 Pakistani television series, directed by Sohail Javed and written by Rida Bilal. It is produced by "SJ Films" in association with "Multiverse Entertainment". The cast includes Fahad Shaikh and Hajra Yamin in titular roles. The series premiered on 14 July 2023 on Green Entertainment.[1] Wonderland revolves around an aspiring young director who's ready to fight all odds to make his dream project come true.

Plot[edit]

Wonderland is a tale of Rohail, a young aspiring director who returns to Pakistan after completing his degree in filmmaking from the USA. After his arrival in the country, he feels lost, meets people from different walks of life and struggles in achieving his dreams. Meanwhile, he meets Sonehri, a poor independent girl and aims to cast her as a heroine in his project. The serial explores the complications faced by Rohail in order to have his dreams come true.

  • Fahad Shaikh as Rohail - a young aspiring filmmaker, wants to direct a film but face hurdles in the way to achieve his dreams.
  • Hajra Yamin as Sonehri - an independent girl, love interest of Rohail, cast by him as lead in his film despite knowing she is an inexperienced actress.
  • Ali Sikandar as Jugnu - Rohail's friend supporting him in legal and financial matters.

  • Ali Tahir as Shahid - Rohail and Zara's father, looking after a restaurant business.
  • Nida Mumtaz as Seema - Rohail and Zara's mother.
  • Ali Rizvi as Saad/Fakir Ustaad - leader of beggers mafia having art of writing.
  • Samiya Mumtaz as Rani Bibi - an elderly woman serves as a mentor to Rohail giving precious advices.

Production[edit]

Javed first announced the project in 2021, revealing Shaikh and Yamin as lead couple in his next serial. The duo appeared together in serial Haya Kay Rang, Jalan and short film "Naam Kya Rakha". The serial slated to be aired on Green Entertainment on its launch airing weekly episodes, ending its run on 13 October 2023.
