  • Comment: There's nothing here to suggest that this person is notable by our standards. According to Google Scholar he has an h-index of about 2; on Scopus he isn't listed at all. The page contains swathes of unsourced content, and content that is not supported by the source cited. I haven't checked all of the sources, but I don't see any that cover his life and achievements in depth and in detail – they all appear to be passing mentions at best. Warren Charles Trenchard (b. 1944) is Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Early Christian Literature and Director of Graduate Programs in the H. M. S. Richards Divinity School (1995–present) at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He was university Provost 2004–2010.

Born 16 July 1944, Trenchard is the son of Charles Edward Trenchard (1911–62) and Violet Frances Noseworthy (1912–2006).[1][2]

In 1980, along with librarian colleague at Canadian Union College, Keith Clouten, Trenchard developed a major re-write of the Library of Congress classification schedule BX 6101–6189, which was deemed as inadequate to incorporate the massive and complex published materials associated with Seventh-day Adventism. This especially involved the large bibliography of writings by Ellen G. White. What Clouten and Trenchard created is now used by Adventist academic libraries worldwide and is updated and distributed by the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Librarians.[12]

Trenchard was visiting professor, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University (1981); member, Board of Directors, Association of Adventist Forums (1989–91); member, Private Colleges Coordinating Council of Alberta (1980–95); member, Editorial Board and Book Review Editor, Religious Studies and Theology (1986–89); and accreditation site evaluator, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (2002–present).

Trenchard is a member of the Catholic Biblical Association. Before retiring, he was also a member of the Adventist Society for Religious Studies (president: 1992–93), a fellow of the Institute for Biblical Research, and a member of the International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies, and the Society of Biblical Literature.
