From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Virdis Graduate Institute is a non-profit distance learning institute focusing on ecological and psychological perspectives in higher education.[1]

History[edit]

Viridis Graduate Institute was founded in 2011 by Dr. Lori Pye, a known figure in ecological psychology and environmental humanities.[2][3] She has played a significant role in shaping its innovative curricula.[4] Dr. Pye's work focuses on the intersection of ecological and psychological dimensions and aims to transform narratives contributing to destructive behavior and practices toward all life forms and the planet.[5]

The name "Viridis" derives from the Latin term for "green, to sprout" or the notion of "green life," symbolizing the flourishing and growth of plants and vegetation.[6]
