Veera is a Malaysian Tamil-language television series starring Theebaan Govindasamy, Thasha Krishnakumar, Sharmendran Raghonathan and Shamini Shradha, direction by M.S Prem Nath.[1] It was first Tamil Sports drama with a focus on Mixed Martial Arts.[2] The story was An inspired of 1950s, a local boxer from Ipoh.[3]
It aired on Astro Vinmeen HD from December 19, 2022 to January 27, 2023, on Monday to Thursday at 21:00 (MST) and is available for streaming worldwide on Astro GO or stream anytime On Demand.[4]
Plot[edit]
The story of brothers Veera and Bharath, who has to face his own brother as a rival in a Mixed Martial Arts championship. Whether Veera chooses to battle it out with a full heart to win the championship, or let his brother be crowned champion forms the crux of the story.

Casting[edit]
Theebaan Govindasamy was cast in the titular role of Veera, he was selected due to his knowledge of martial arts.[6] His martial arts experience began at the age of five, and he represented Malaysia in karate for seven years and was crowned National Karate Champion eight times, before becoming Malaysia's Welterweight Champion in 2016 in the local mixed martial arts scene. Sharmendran Raghonathan was cast as Bharath, He was also knowledge of karate.[7] He won seven time Karate Championship.
