The MC Type is an American-born rapper, singer and comedian based in Auckland, New Zealand.[1] He is best known for his wild song concepts and hilarious music videos.[2] Mainly creating self-aware satire works, he has done "spot-on spoofs of emo rap and egregious backpackery."[3] Type was in a hip hop group that charted on College Music Journal up to number 19 in the rap category and was picked up by over 210 public radio stations for regular rotation.[4]

Type toured with Grieves and Prof in 2011[5] and Louis Logic in 2009. Type has collaborated with many other rappers, including featured guest spots on his albums from MC Lars and Sage Francis.[6]
