Early life[edit]

Dr. Syed Junaid Ali Shah was born in 1974. His initial education was in Pakistan and after completing his matriculation, he left for London for higher education.

After completing his basic medical degree, he worked in the National Health Service, UK for few years and obtained his post graduate qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England during his training.

Career[edit]

Shortly, after he realized the need to come back to serve Pakistan which also gave him the golden opportunity to directly train under the supervision of his father Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali Shah[5] (Pride of Performance, T.I., S.I., H.I.). He has been here ever since. Dr. Shah (Senior) had the privilege of being the only Pakistani to receive four Presidential Awards namely Pride of Performance, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Hilale-Imtiaz. He was a well-known philanthropist and one of the finest Orthopaedic Surgeons of Pakistan. He till date is recognized as a pioneer in the orthopaedic field and was known to have introduced operative orthopaedics in Pakistan in the 1980’s.[6]

A.O. Hospital is an extremely unique STATE OF THE ART TRAUMA & ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE dealing with a variety of injured patients. Due to high standards of surgery, the hospital is recognized by ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS OF for FRCS training and also recognized by COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS OF PAKISTAN for FCPS training. A.O. is also recognized to train fellows for Pakistan Orthopaedic Association and SICOT (International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology).[7]

Formally known as A.O. Postgraduate Institute of Orthopaedic Sciences, is a hub for producing trained doctors along with other medical staff who have been serving the country and increasing the strength of trained work force.

Dr. Syed Junaid Ali Shah has attended large number of National and International Conferences and delivered lectures on various topics in Pakistan and abroad as a guest speaker.[8]

As detailed in the latter part, Dr. Junaid’s contributions in the field of hospitality[9][10], film and drama industry. Currently, he has the charge of Minister, Govt. of Sindh third time[11], prior to this, he has already been Minister in the Sindh Government twice (2013 and 2018)[12][13] and has served various sport’s associations, currently holding the post of Chairman Sindh Olympic Association[14][15]

Dr. Shah is well-known for his philanthropy and lead’s many welfare project’s.[16]

The recent highlight is his entry into the Turkish drama and film industry, with a series on the life of “Selahaddin Eyyubi[17]” due to be released in October/November 2023.[18][19]
