Shynefest is a music festival that markets itself as a "family friendly" event & is based at Merrist Wood Agricultural College near Guildford in Surrey. It was founded in 2015 to celebrate one of the founder's 40th birthday, after whom it is named. Just 250 people attended the first festival with numbers rising to ten times that as the event became more widely publicised.
With the demise of Guilfest, Shynefest is reported to be the largest festival currently operating in the Guildford area. Notwithstanding this, following the hiatus caused by the pandemic, the festival was reduced to one day in 2023 following slow ticket sales. The 2024 festival is currently back up to 2 days, however.
Bands
The festival mainly showcases local bands & talent & cover bands.Big-name acts, mostly from the 90s, have in recent years been added to the headline slots as the numbers of tickets sold seem to have justified the cost.

History
Founded in 2015 by Shyne & Kevin Adcock & Ciaron Sykes, the festival is mainly staffed by volunteers from litter pickers to marshalls. Professional SIA registered security is brought in to keep the event safe, and this alongside passive security fencing accounts for a large part of the ticket price.
Locations
The first festivals took place in Bisley, Surrey before outgrowing the initial site and moving to Apps Court Farm in Walton on Thames. Latterly, it moved again to Merrist Wood near Guildford.
Other initiatives
Wynterfest is a smaller festival based in the Star Inn in Guildford, Surrey
