The Scotland Freedom Day Concert, organized by the Gasaway Sisters, unfolded as a spectacular event at the Anthem Theater at the Wharf in DC on June 19th, 2023. LaTisha Gasaway-Paul, Teresa Gasaway-Gleaton, and LaTrice Gasaway-Johnson, fifth-generation descendants of William Dove, played pivotal roles. LaTisha Gasaway-Paul, the President of the Juneteenth Scotland Foundation, served as the Chairperson for the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival and was instrumental in organizing the Freedom Day concert, collaborating with her sisters Teresa Gasaway-Gleaton and LaTrice Gasaway-Johnson, who are members of the Scotland Juneteenth Steering Committee.

The concert featured a star-studded lineup, including renowned artists like Wyclef Jean, Tarrus Riley, Dean Fraser & Blak Soil Band, Patrice Roberts, the late Ricardo Drue, and Gyptian.

Key event organizers, the Gasaway Sisters, are the owners of Scotland DMV Entertainment LLC, a locally based entertainment company deeply rooted in the community. Established with a vision to uplift and enhance the entertainment landscape in Montgomery County, Scotland DMV Entertainment, LLC showcased its commitment to bringing together local talent, diverse entertainment, and professional event management.

Specializing in a wide array of events, including concerts, cultural festivals, private parties, and corporate functions, Scotland DMV Entertainment, LLC crafted each occasion with meticulous care and creativity, capturing the unique spirit of the community. The organization's extensive network of industry contacts, combined with a deep knowledge of Montgomery County's distinctive character, allowed them to curate events that resonated with the audience.

As the Scotland Freedom Day Concert concluded, it left a lasting impression on the community, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Gasaway Sisters, the Scotland Community, and Scotland DMV Entertainment, LLC.
