PÉTER FRIED (Bass) Opera Singer, is leading opera singer in the Hungarian State Opera. He has won more prizes of his musical life: Liszt-Prize, Bartók-Memorial-Award, and the “Artisjus”-Prize of the Hungarian Contemporary Composers. He had success with his most important roles from U.S.- to Japan, in the famous concert-halls and opera-houses e.g. Toronto, Baltimore, Washington, Tokyo, Nagoya, Barcelona, Grenoble, Paris, London, Roma, Brussels, Nizza, Monte Carlo, Bayreuth, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Bangkok, Vienna, Köln, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. He had an exclusive contract with Pierre Boulez Management for ten years. He was returning guest star of famous festivals: PROMS BBC in Barbican Hall, in Royal Albert Hall, in Beaux-Arts(BOZAR)-Brussels, in Paris Salle Pleyel, Cité de la Musique, in Saint Denis Festival, Ravenna Festival- all of was broadcast by Eurovision an by EUB, and Santa-Cecilia-Hall-Roma, Cologne-Festival, Nashville Festival USA and L.C. New York. He has performed the title role “Bluebeard” more than 100 invitations in the world. Bartók‘s Bluebeard's Castle's among was performed by Péter Fried and conducted by Péter Eötvös in Stuttgart. This performance has won “year of the best operconcert” title in 2002. The CD of this performance was recorded by SWR in 2004 and has won Grammy Award Nomination. Péter Fried in 2006 was invited by Pierre Boulez to „Bluebeard Duke” title role in Paris conducted by Pierre Boulez, in the Theatre du Chatelet. Judith's role was sung by Ms. Jessye Norman. This performance has won “year of the best classical music concert” title, and was recorded by Radio France. He had more important performances also in the USA, recorded by BBC, NBC, CBS, and in Torino recorded by RAI. Péter Fried has other bebutation e.g. in Schönbergs Die Glückliche Hand in Beaux-Arts in Brussels conductor by Boulez was recorded Radio Benelux and also performed in Royal Albert Hall recorded by BBC. He has a personal intvitation by Péter Eötvös to his own opera Three Sisters to Szoljon role in the Opera National de Lyon and in Wiener Festwochen and he was sung Seneca role of Monteverdi‘s Poppea in London. He has debutations in Opera de Monte Carlo in Handel's Judas Maccabeus, and in role Sarastro of Mozart Magic Flute in Monaco and in the role of Ramfis in Verdi's Aida in the Grand Arena Pula’s. He sang many times in Budapest Spring Festival the King Henrik in Wagner‘s Lohengrin and the role of Landgraf Hermann Wagners Tannhãuser as a partner of Linda Watson, Riccarda Marberth, and as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Edita Gruberova.

Péter Fried has more invitations by world-famous conductors e.g. Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Pierre Boulez, Péter Eötvös, Philippe Jordan, Rico Saccani, Jurij Simonov, Pierre Giorgio Morandi, Richard Bradshaw, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and by famous directors as Vilppu Kiljunen, Calixto Bieito, Laurent Pelly, Robert Lepage, Katharina Wagner.

Since 2014 Péter Fried has been Professor in the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest.
