Nick DeRiso is assistant managing editor at Townsquare Media[1][2][3] and author of the 2023 Journey biography, 'Journey: Worlds Apart.' [4][5]

He was a longtime columnist and editor in the USA Today Network [6], and has also written for American Songwriter[7], No Depression[8], Blues Revue Magazine[9], Louisiana Voices magazine[10], Popdose[11], Blues Music Magazine [12] and Louisiana Tech Magazine[13], among others.

DeRiso has earned multiple columnist of the year awards from the Associated Press, Louisiana Press Association and Louisiana Sports Writers Association[14][15][16]. He also oversaw a Sunday section that earned Top 10 national honors from the Associated Press Sports Editors[17]. He later co-founded the music site Something Else[18], which has been sourced or mentioned by The New York Times[19], All About Jazz[20] and NPR[21], among others.

Former Rolling Stone magazine editor and writer David Wild described 'Journey: Worlds Apart' as a "compelling deep dive into the rather complicated history of one of the most enduringly beloved bands in rock history," while long-time San Francisco Chronicle music writer Joel Selvin praised its "almost granular detail."[22] Critic Allison Rapp named 'Journey: Worlds Apart' as one of the 30 "best rock books of 2023."[23] Gary Graff, a long-time Detroit Free Press writer and frequent contributor[24] to Billboard magazine, said DeRiso's book was "packed with up-to-date facts and, most importantly, context."[25]
