The Messerschmitt Me P.1090 was a design drawn up in 1943, it was an attempt at creating a modular aircraft in which different parts of the aircraft could be swapped to change its role.[1]

Design[edit]

The Me P.1090 could be fitted with either 2 Jumo 004 jet engines or DB 603G turboprops, it also included a V-tail[1] It featured a retractable, tricycle landing gear on the jet variant, whilst the turbo-prop variant had a conventional landing gear.[1] The aircraft could be modified to fit many roles including:

Development[edit]

Messerschmitt created a wooden mockup and brought it to the RLM, but the design was rejected and ultimately construction never began.[1]
