Krijn Pansters (Swalmen, June 14, 1975) is a Dutch historian and theologian in the field of the Middle Ages.[1]

Pansters attended the gymnasium at the Bisschoppelijk College Broekhin. He studied history, theology and educational history (teacher training) in Nijmegen. He received his PhD from Radboud University on a study of cardinal virtues in the late Middle Ages and from Catholic University Leuven on a study of virtue in the writings of late medieval religious orders. He is a staff member of the Franciscan Study Center at Tilburg University and a lecturer in spirituality at that university. He is also a researcher in social spirituality at the Titus Brandsma Institute at Radboud University Nijmegen. He publishes in the field of the Christian tradition and spirituality, especially of the Friars Minor, Carthusians and Modern Devotion, and in particular in relation to virtue ethics and ecology. Pansters is founder of the Dutch translation series Middeleeuwse Monastieke Teksten [2]. He is a member of several domestic and international associations and editorial boards in the field of medieval history and religion. He is president of the International Society for the Study of Medieval Theology (IGTM) [3]. and General Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Franciscan Studies [4] of the blog franciscanconnections.com [5]. He is also a councilor for the CDA (Christian Democratic Party) in the municipality of Beesel, the Netherlands.
