Kipkunur Football Club[3] is an associated football club based in Kapsowar and currently playing County Leagues in Elgeyo-Marakwet. The team was founded in May 2023 and plays its home games at Moi Kapsowar Girls Stadium at Kapsowar CBD.
The team borrows its symbolic name from the vantage of Kipkunur Mountain[4] located at the western horizon among the Cherangany ranges.
The hill, starkly erect, stands tall exuding power, dominance, and valor. It is a key symbol bestowing some of the key supreme fundamentals that Kipkunur FC players borrow from the westerly majestic knoll.
Apparently, due to the incorporation of qualities associated with Kipkunur Mountain into their team identity and culture by its management, the club has stood the test of time in the football vicinity.
These outstanding qualities have helped them create a strong sense of purpose, resilience[5], and unity which has contributed to much of their success since its inception in May 2023.
Colors[edit]
When it was all said and done, Kipkunur FC adopted Turquoise Green[6] and Light Muted Orange as their home and away colors respectively.

Rivalry[edit]
Considering the time the team has been in the game, you will find it ironic that the club has several rivalries with neighboring teams including, Cheles FC, Chesingei FC, Kapkoros FC, Kapsumai FC, Kaptabuk FC, Kazuri FC among others. Both hailing from the Kapsowar ward and holding notable titles in the Fotball Kapsowar football realms.
Market Value[edit]
It is the most entrenched club in the Kapsowar locale in modern times. The club's current Market value averages $50,000.
History and Achievements[edit]
The team was founded in May 2023 and sources its talented players from all over the region including the Kipsaiya, Kapchesewes, Cheptongei, Sinon, and Kapsowar areas. The team is yet to source its players from the larger 'Elgeyo Marakwet County[7] and North Rift region in the near future.
Months after its establishment the team won the Kapsowar Ward Tournament Cup after beating Koisangu FC in the penalties to clinch their first-ever title.
They also participated in the Gavana wa Raia Cup, a competition organized by the county government of Elgeyo Marakwet county, and its under-19 team is currently participating in Safaricom Chapa Dimba.
They have also taken part in numerous friendlies with teams from within and without the Kapsowar ward. Some of these teams are Maina FC, Ng'orng'oroi FC, Lawich FC, and Marakwet Boys High School amongst other teams in the area. At the moment, plans are underway to expand its reach all over the Rift Valley and eventually the African continent at large.
Fanbase[edit]
At the moment, Kipkunur's fanbase primarily comes from the Kapsowar ward although word has it that its roots have spread to as far as Iten, Chepkorio, Chesoi, Kapcherop, and even Eldoret.
Sponsorships[edit]
Since its conception to date, the team has been solely sponsored by the Momi Foundation.[8] A community-based organization that looks forward to empowering youth and community through technology, talent, and education.
