From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kareem Marzouk is an Egyptian-born sportsman.

Early life and education[edit]

Kareem Marzouk was born in Egypt and spent his early years traveling between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. During his youth, he honed his football skills at Al Ittihad Club, one of Saudi Arabia's most prominent sports academies. His time at Al Ittihad Club provided him with a foundational experience that would shape his future in sports.

Football career[edit]

Marzouk's transition into professional football began with a trial at ENPPI FC in Egypt, where he was accepted and thus embarked on his career as a footballer. However, his trajectory took an international turn when he relocated to Canada, seeking new opportunities.

In Canada, he played for various clubs, including Toronto Skillz and Centennial College. Despite an offer to play for a Canadian Premier League team coached by Patrice Gheisar, Marzouk declined, feeling his aspirations lay beyond the league. His global network of contacts led to discussions with a former Zamalek player-turned-agent, which prompted a move to Denmark. There, he played for a club before returning to Egypt to sign a contract with a first-division team. Unfortunately, a serious injury curtailed his rising career in football.

Basketball career[edit]

Undeterred by his setback in football, Marzouk pursued a career in basketball, inspired by a story of a man who began his sports career late in life and played into his sixties. Back in Canada, Marzouk's determination led to a tryout with his college basketball team. His impressive performance in a friendly match caught the attention of an agent, who offered him the chance to play overseas.

Coaching career[edit]

Marzouk's passion for sports extended into coaching, a field he delved into with dedication. He traveled extensively, investing time in Europe, Asia, and Africa to enhance his coaching skills. Drawing on his experience coaching youth, he began mentoring athletes in Egypt, with one of his proteges reaching the NBA G League and the Egyptian national team. He continued to coach in Egypt, helping others to achieve professional status in the Egyptian basketball league.

Business and computing ventures[edit]

Parallel to his sports career, Marzouk also pursued academic interests, earning a degree in Computer Science. He applied his technical knowledge as a soccer data analyst for the English Football League Championship and the Bundesliga in Germany. This combination of sports insight and analytical expertise became a hallmark of his coaching and marketing approach.

Personal life[edit]

Today, Marzouk leads an organization in Toronto that fosters youth participation in basketball and soccer (Visionary FootBall Academy/ Visionary BasketBall Academy), aiming to provide them with opportunities to excel.
