Integrated Intelligent Computer Systems (IICS) Technologies is a Ugandan software and IT development company started in 2010 as research project funded through the Presidential Support to Scientist Initiative. It is known to have created the first ever hospital Management system in Uganda.[1] [2][3] IICS won the best innovator award in 2012 from the Ugandan local government and Canadian government as a result.
History[edit]
The Company was started in 2010 by Dr. Silver Kiyimba who is its founder and Principal Investigator[4][5][3].He has experience in the field of AI Robotics and cyber security.[6] The company is supervised by Uganda National Council for Science and Technology[7]The research which was conducted in the area of medical supplies management led to the development of the first ever integrated management Information System for Hospitals created by Ugandans for Ugandan Healthcare facilities. [8]
This innovation led to a reduction of medicine theft and absenteeism of medical workers in government hospitals and changed the way hospital management is carried out in the country[9]. The System has since been deployed in regional referral hospitals and District Hospitals and has improved service delivery in the health sector.[3] IICS has also mentored many youth in the technology field, some working with Google, Microsoft while others have started their own Tech companies.
In 2023, IICS Technologies launched the Digital Health Forum to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, thought leaders, and professionals to collectively address the challenges and opportunities in advancing digital health within the Ugandan healthcare landscape[10]

Achievements[edit]
- IICS Technologies Limited was funded by the Government of Uganda to create and design the Integrated Hospital Management Information System (iHMIS) to improve service delivery in the Health sector by eliminating theft and mismanagement[12] as part of Government’s agenda in improving service delivery through deploying the IHMIS system in all Regional Referral Hospitals and some district hospitals of Uganda.[3] This system aims to streamline administrative processes, enhance patient care, and improve overall efficiency in hospitals.[13]
- In 2012,IICS Technologies was voted the Best Innovator in Public & Private Sector by the Ministry of Local Government & Canadian Government.
- The Hospital Management Information System also known as MYHealth system in the private sector is deployed and supports a number of Regional Referral Hospitals and General Hospitals in Uganda as follows:[14][15]
