The Havelock and Area Fire Department, located in southwest Nova Scotia, was officially founded on January 9th 1975 by 6 members of the community. The department is part of Digby County and is 1 of 7 departments in Clare Municipality. Havelock ,along with neighboring department Hectanooga, now cover the area in which The Richfield Fire Department had before they were shut down in 2019.
