Fredrick Nwabufo is a Nigerian journalist, columnist, and publisher of 'TheLink News'.[1]. His independent writings and columns are published on the news platforms of Premium Times,[2] TheCable,[3] [[Sahara Reporters],[4] The Guardian, Daily Trust Newspapers,[5] The Nation Newspapers, PM News, People's Gazette,[6] Daily Post [7], This Day Newspapers.[8] etc. He was at different times the Abuja bureau chief, deputy editor, and Nation's Capital editor at TheCable Newspapers between April 2014 and September 2022.
Appointed on the 9th of October 2023, he serves in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Public Engagement[9] [10][11]
Early Life[edit]
Nwabufo is from Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state, Nigeria. He was born and raised in Lagos State to the family of Nnamdi and Esther Nwabufo both deceased. He is the first of four children.
Education[edit]
He attended Government Secondary School in Abuja and obtained a Bachelor's degree in History and International Relations from Nnamdi Azikwe University. He is certified in mobile journalism by the Knight Centre of Journalism in the Americas and holds a certificate of participation in Journalism from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.
Career in Journalism[edit]
He was the editor of the Corps' official magazine for Ekiti State in 2009. After private sector roles, he joined Odenigbo 99.1 FM, Obosi, Anambra state as an On Air presenter in 2012. He was an editor at The News Chronicle, Abuja in 2013 and joined TheCable Newspaper as deputy editor in 2014. He was made the online news platform's Abuja bureau chief in 2016. He has joined conversations and provided opinions on different platforms like Africa Media Works' Yanga TV; Newsday on The BBC World News Service, London;[12][13] Africa Independent Television, Silverbird TV; News Central, TVC, ITV, etc. In the course of his career, he has conducted interviews including a sit-down in July 2017 with the Nobel Laureate, Malala Yousafzai.[14].
