MeTL Group[edit]

MeTL Group started as a family-owned trading company in the 1970s with a vision to offer quality goods at affordable prices. In the late 1990s, MeTL shifted its strategy to focus on local manufacturing and intra-regional trading, bolstering Tanzania’s growth in the private industry. The early 2000s marked a period of massive expansion for MeTL, driven by the government's privatization policies. This phase included major acquisitions and set the stage for MeTL's long-term strategy of vertical integration and regional expansion[3].
