The European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability (EIIS) is a private educational organization for the training of managers who work for sustainability in different fields: scientific, industrial, environmental. EIIS organizes courses, post-graduate masters, certification programs and workshops for graduates, managers and companies internationally.

Organization[edit]

EIIS was founded in 2019 by Carlo Alberto Pratesi who is currently its president and Andrea Geremicca, general director. It is based in Palazzo Taverna in Rome.[1]

The institute provides training for sustainability managers in various fields of production, public administration and creative work. There are courses and educational activities on sustainability in agriculture [2], art, fashion and food production. Specialized master's courses are organized every year on the topics of the circular economy and the ecological transition.

The courses are taught by professionals from different fields including Jeffrey Sachs, Jared Diamond, Fulco Pratesi, Massimo Bottura, Hady Milani and the architect Carlo Ratti. The institute's educational activities are created in collaboration with companies, organizations and institutions including the United Nations Agriculture Organization agency called the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)[3] , Enel, Procter and Gamble, Carbonsink. In particular, the partnership between EIIS, the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the European Space Agency (ESA) [5]is dedicated to the creation of food security projects.

Events[edit]

EIIS organizes the European Innovation for Sustainability Summit (EIIS Summit) [6] [7] every year, an annual summit in which case studies and international projects focusing on innovation and sustainability are presented. Workshops, conferences and meetings with experts are organised. During the European Innovation for Sustainability Summit, the Innovation for Sustainability Summit Award is awarded, which highlights initiatives and products that promote sustainability in the industrial sector. The 2023 edition of the award was awarded to Enel X ex aequo with Ferrero and Save the Children.
