Founded in 2008, Cobogó is a Brazilian publishing house focused on exploring art, culture, and current issues. Its catalogue includes over 300 titles, around 90% of which are original projects developed in collaboration with authors, artists, and other contributors, mainly from Brazil.[1] In curating its range of titles and collections, Cobogó emphasizes interdisciplinarity and a variety of themes connected to art, culture, and social relationships.[2] The publishing house has paid particular attention to representing Black female voices in Brazilian contemporary art, incuding a mongraph for Afro-Brazilian sculptor Sonia Gomes [3][4] The publishing house is destinguished for collaborations such with leading international curators such as Hans Ulrich Obrist in Hans Ulrich Obrist: Brazilian Interviews Vol. 1 (2018) and Hans Ulrich Obrist: Brazilian Interviews Vol. 2 (2022). [1] The publisher also engages with contemporary theater and media studies, including collaborations with Rosane Svartman.[5]
