The 2,000 złotych note is a formal banknote used in Poland, during the third banknote series, ordered in value after the 1,000 złotych note, starting production in 1977 until 1995. It features Mieszko I and the text "DWA TYSIĄCE ZŁOTYCH" ("TWO THOUSAND ZŁOTY" in English.) on the obverse, and on the reverse is Bolesław I Chrobry and the signature of Narodowy Bank Polski. The 2,000 złotych note was never reprinted.

In 1977, Ryszard Kleczewski and Wacław Borowski designed the banknote, and it was put into circulation the same year. It was the tenth most valuable bill. Once a while, there would be a new president and chief treasurer of the N.B.P., and the signatures would obviously change. On 1st January 1995 the PLZ would become the PLN, the modern złoty of Poland.[1][2]

On the top, the text reads "POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA," ("POLISH PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC" in English.) and below is the serial number. (In this case, the serial number is BP 7784559.) To the bottom right is a large number in the center of the bill that reads 2000, and below the text "DWA TYSIĄCE ZŁOTYCH" ("TWO THOUSAND ZŁOTY" in English.) Below is the date and location of the bill. (The date / text reads "WARSZAWA, 1 CZERWCA 1982 r.") ["WARSAW, 1 JUNE 1982" in English.]
To the bottom left is the text "PREZES NARODOWEGO BANKU POLSKIEGO," ("PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.) and to the right is the text "GŁÓWNY SKRABNIK NARODOWEGO BANKU POLSKIEGO." ("CHIEF TREASURER OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.) Below is the Polish eagle, and down is the exact same serial number. To the bottom left is a slightly smaller large number inside of a pattern. And to the right, is a very large portrait of Mieszko I.[1][2]

On the top, the text reads "NARODOWY BANK POLSKI," ("NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.) and below is a large portrait of Bolesław I Chrobry. To the left is the text "BOLESŁAW CHROBRY," ("BOLESLAUS CHROBRY" in English.) and a sword. Below is the same text dwa tysiące złotych, same large number, (both bottom left and top right.) and the text "BILETY EMITOWANE PRZEZ NARODOWY BANK POLSKI SĄ PRAWNYM ŚRODKIEM PŁATNICZYM W POLSCE." ("BILLS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND ARE LEGAL TENDER IN POLAND" in English.) Above is a shape, and the signature of Narodowy Bank Polski.[1][2]
