August 2006[edit]

Love this idea of this category, especially as cluttered as the main USN cat has become! However, with all the oddball names of the member articles and categories, sorting all of this cat's members by " " does not appear to be working very well (aka you cannot find anything). Here are the first dozen entries under the current sort:

List of lost United States submarines
List of United States Navy destroyers
List of United States Navy escort aircraft carriers
List of submarine classes of the United States Navy
List of frigates of the United States Navy
List of United States Navy aircraft squadrons
List of Military Sealift Command ships
List of U.S. military vessels named after women
List of United States Navy air stations
List of auxiliaries of the United States Navy
List of Naval Officer Designators
List of United States Navy installations

The best solution seams to be sorting the members by the non-list, non-USN portion of their names. So List of lost United States submarines would sort under "submarines lost," List of United States Navy air stations would sort under "air installations," etc. --Kralizec! United States Navy in Popular Culture[edit]

  • There should definitely be a list of U.S. Navy references in pop culture (movies, books, tv shows, etc.). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.180.194.3 (talk) 18:41, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
