Category talk:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Yorkshirian

Daddy Kindsoul (talk · contribs · block log) added some clubs to Category:Yorkshire football clubs around 5 Dec 07, example. Daddy Kindsoul was banned for sock abuse following an arbcom case, see Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Deathrocker (he changed his username). There is a certain similarity with Yorkshirian (talk · contribs · block log) in that good work was mixed in with poor behaviour and they had a similar style of editing.

Yorkshrian admitted here and here to two previous accounts, CalcioSalvo (talk · contribs) and SalvoCalcio (talk · contribs).

Daddy Kindsoul was blocked on 22 June 2007 for a month (here). SalvoCalcio (talk · contribs) started editing on 23 June 2007, and edited for a month until 22 July 2007 when he "lost his password". He created CalcioSalvo (talk · contribs) on 25 July 2007. Daddy Kindsoul was unblocked around 23 July and started editing; compare CalcioSalvo's edit rate (with Daddy Kindsoul unblocked) to SalvoCalcio's edit rate (with Daddy Kindsoul blocked). For the next week or so it tends to be either Daddy Kindsoul or CalcioSalvo editing, never both. There are a few occasions where one edited shortly before the other. On 2 September 2007 Daddy Kindsoul was blocked for a week. There was a bit of activity from CalcioSalvo, then it stopped forever on 9 September 2007. On 18 September 20 Daddy Kindsoul was blocked for a year. We know that Daddy Kindsoul was creating abusive socks. On 22 October 2007 Daddy Kindsoul was banned for multiple sock abuse. On 14:34, 24 October 2007, Yorkshirian made his first edit. Yorkshirian's early work demonstrates acute awareness of how Wikipedia functions.

One of User:Yorkshirian's socks, User:Cradashj, is mentioned as the sole remaining opposer at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2008-08-02 Sicani. Also mentioned on that page are User:Soprani who is User:Daddy Kindsoul, and User: Kyarichy who is User:Fone4My.

As mentioned, User:Daddy Kindsoul editted Yorkshire football clubs. One of Yorkshirian's confirmed socks - User:ForeverWhiteRose mainly worked on Football in Yorkshire. User:Fone4My and User:The Cavendish both edit warred on Scotland. Daddy Kindsoul editted Italian football topics (example), whilst many of Yorkshirian's and Fone4My's sockpuppets have Italian names (eg. User:MagdelenaDiArco) or edit Italian footaball topics.

Compare the style of language and editting on User_talk:Soprani#Blocked (read onwards), with Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Yorkshirian#Statement_by_Yorkshirian. Soprani (Italian ID editting Italian football) was proven to be an abusive puppetmaster/sockpuppet linked with Daddy Kindsoul here.

This completes a compelling link at several levels.

User:Serene Dreamer

This newly registered editor sprang up today, and immediately made edits that had been made before to Roman Catholic Dioceses and an associated template for areas in Yorkshire. These articles had previously been edited in a very similar way by Yorkshirian. Another administrator contected me making the same point, and so I think it is reasonable to suspect this editor enough to mention it here.  DDStretch  (talk) 11:12, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Another newly registered user from yesterday. Seems to be a sockpuppet of Yorkshirian considering their past edits on the Peerage and places in Northumberland and Yorkshire – but I'm not entirely sure. Craigy (talk) 06:20, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

You do realise that the case is closed? ArbComm's ban of Yorkshirian ended earlier this month and the block on his account was lifted soon after as it appeared that he had kept his promise of not abusing sock puppets. Nev1 (talk) 13:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah but all about it should be clearly displayed here. I was looking for links to his/her userpage for an unrelated matter and thought "What are all these user pages connected to his for?" so I looked and there was a hundred sockpuppets. I thought this was going to be a big deal about blocking him so i started collecting them all together to list here and just happened to find elsewhere that it was all over. It would be a good idea for any person aware of the arbcom to explain it at the top of the page for anyone finding all these sockpuppets? ~ R.T.G 21:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
