Cat:Horror & SF Studies[edit]

User:Henry Merrivale removed the Category:Horror from Category:Science fiction studies. I agree it looks a bit weird, as does Category:Fantasy and even Category:Speculative fiction, but the definition of science fiction studies includes horror, and there is no more distinguished "horror studies". I'm putting it back; if there is disagreement, let's talk about it. Maybe we can come up with a better name for the cat. Lquilter (talk) 18:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cat: Film crit[edit]

  • User:Cgingold removed "category:film criticism", leaving "category:literary criticism". Science fiction studies encompasses both media. --Lquilter (talk) 14:14, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

  • User:Fortdj33 removed category:Fantasy; I replaced it, because the field of "science fiction studies" encompasses "science fiction" broadly, including "fantasy". (Yes, I know, it's a misnomer to that extent.) The user also added "category:science fiction", which I un-did when I did the rollback, and put back. This category is already in Category:Works about science fiction and I imagine someone had diffused it. However, "science fiction studies" isn't just "works about SF"; it's also conferences, scholars, and so forth. So, I think it's appropriate to have it in category:science fiction. --Lquilter (talk) 03:09, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
