The category Mammals as pets is contradictory to this statement. There is no rule for this category to simply be for that purpose then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ddum5347 (talk • contribs)
Which articles are you referring to at Category:Mammals as pets? The only species articles that are included currently are domesticated mammals commonly kept as pets, though domestication is a questionable threshold for inclusion to me. Thanks to @DexDor: for pointing out some past relevant CfDs.[1][2][3] Some relevant points: "as with other similar categories, any non-extinct species can potentially be kept as a pet"..."this is not a defining characteristic" ... "Amongst Las Vegas magicians, white tigers are common pets but I don't think this is defining of the white tiger as species" ... "there are no pets evident in the categories, no pet breeds/strains, no individual pets" ...
Then perhaps they should be made, if that's the case. Since all animals can theoretically be pets, it's not like my additions are random; they are reptile species that are very commonly had as pets, and have guidelines for owners. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ddum5347 (talk • contribs)
