Need for Parentheses in Articles[edit]

A Number of the pages in this category have (World War II) after the unit designation. In some cases the addition is required to disambiguate the articles ( 86th Fighter Wing is not 86th Fighter Wing (World War II), even if one with was in the United States Army Air Forces and the other in the United States Air Force. In others, there is no ambiguity 10th Fighter Wing (World War II) is the only 10th Fighter Wing in the AAF or USAF. I suggest standardizing by eliminating the additional designation where there is no ambiguity. Also, although a number of AAF fighter wings were allotted to the National Guard in 1946, only the 86th article uses (Air National Guard), rather than (World War II) in the article title, I believe this should be changed as well. --Lineagegeek (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
