wikipedia vs. general fair use[edit]

As of 2006/11, This category includes mostly, but not all, wikipedia-specific fair use entries. That needs to be fixed--wikipedia fair use stuff should be segregated to wikipedia project categories, and "fair use" as a general category should be reserved for encyclopedia entries relating to fair use. For now I'm integrating it into the copyright law cat hierarchy, even though it includes off-topic material. --LQ 17:37, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

needed work on category[edit]

  • copyright: important fair use cases should be classed here; also articles for each of the four fair use factors; also we need an article for the history of fair use; also an international perspectives article for doctrines around the world similar to, related to, or based upon US copyright fair use, hopefully explaining the commonalities and differences.
  • trademark: important tm fair use cases should be classed here

  • actually maybe we should split this out -- fair use should just be copyright, and fair use (trademark) should be category for trademark fair use. it's ugly to have them lumped together when they are completely separate doctrines. --lquilter 21:17, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
