This category was nominated for renaming on 2 February 2010. The result of the discussion was keep.

The above discussion, which related to the wider unsuccessful proposal to merge the categories of "Russian immigrants", "Soviet immigrants" and "Imperial Russian immigrants" to a specific country into a single category of "Russian and Soviet immigrants" to that country, was prompted in part by the fact that many articles were incorrectly categorized among these categories. Following a review of the artcles in this category, a sister category,Category:Soviet immigrants to Romania, was created and certain articles recategorized to such category.
