National Association clubs[edit]

25 clubs fielded 50 teams in the five National Association (NAPBBP or NA) seasons. Six of the 25 clubs became six of eight charter members of the NL and the other 19 are not recognized as major by MLB.

  • At the moment, among the nineteen who did not found the NL: fifteen do have ordinary "team" article/stubs in this Category:Defunct baseball teams; two share one unusual page that is cat here (Washington Nationals 1872 and 1875); one (St. Louis Red Stockings) shares such a page that is cat here with another club that played in the NL (St. Louis Brown Stockings); and one has no team article/stub at all (so-called Baltimore Marylands).
  • See Category talk:Defunct Major League Baseball teams for update on the six NA clubs that became charter NL clubs. --P64 03:44, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
