Where are all the surnames formerly in the "Chinese surnames" category? They should have been moved here rather than leaving only one (!) Everything we do must have our users foremost in our minds and a hasty, poorly thought out category deletion against consensus, without actually taking the time to move the articles to a new category, is akin to encyclopedic malpractice. Please do your legwork in the future rather than leaving editors to pick up the pieces by hand. Badagnani (talk) 08:55, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's in process. When the categories were originally deleted, there was no consensus what they would be named to, which is why they weren't automatically transferred. Feel free to participate in the process rather than stubbornly re-creating Category:Chinese surnames again. Good Ol’factory(talk) 09:27, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's no excuse. Forcing our users to spend even a single day searching for Asian surname articles through 10,000+ surnames in the "Surnames" category was wrong. Please don't do this again. Badagnani (talk) 09:41, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's time to get over it and start participating in consensus-building. Good Ol’factory(talk) 10:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
