Categorization[edit]

Volcanic calderas are one form of crater. Others include astroblemes and subsidence craters. They are all known as craters. --Bejnar 07:40, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is all true. But Category:Craters on Wikipedia contains 99+% non-volcanic craters. It is clearly intended for non-volcanic craters (primarily impact craters), so that is the best way to keep it. Volcanoes and their craters have their own categorization tree under Category:Volcanoes, quite separate from Category:Craters. Please leave that separate categorization as it is, and please do not reinsert the Category:Craters tag here. Thanks. --Seattle Skier (talk) 08:47, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
