I think this page should be deleted. Not all of these words are "African-American". "White people" use them and may have originated them as well. I think leaving the articles about the actual words to explain the history of the words is enough. Listing them as "black" only terms is a bit racist and incorrect. Just because they may be used by "African-Americans" does not mean they started them. 187 is a police term. If you watch shows like Andy Griffith (ie. 'Yo' and others) and Dobie Gillis, they used slang way before blacks were. Perhaps they were coming from blacks in the 50s and 60s when blacks weren't on TV, but these aren't just African-American words. I think lists like this are foolish and create more racism in our world. I realize these words are related to AA's, but it still is inappropriate for Wikipedia. Even if the articles "prove" they originated by blacks, it is not only used by them nor can blacks take credit for them all. And any other articles similar to it to spread an agenda, should also be removed. Maybe black people say them a certain way or are more "public" and "current" with their uses, but these words can't be just classified as "African-American". Just the articles about the words are fine. And not all blacks are African decent. What if a slang is from an island country like Jamaica? Really, this is unnecessary. Wiki has to be accurate, not "pop culture". (Just like not calling everything on TV that isn't a procedural a "reality" show, just because media labels it that way. In the golden-age of television it wasn't called "reality TV".) And no one should be calling something an "African-American" term publicly either. It's just ignorant. Where is the list of "White/Caucasian" slang? All there is are articles about slurs. I mean, really? I didn't see any category of Beatnik or Hipster slang articles either. This is why we have racism. P.S. Some of these terms may have come from the gay community also, that were "crossed-over" by the urban community. Especially in the 70s/80s and in particular, the early 90s. Shorty was said by Curly on the original Three Stooges episodes. Just because whites don't say things like blacks, don't mean they came from "African-Americans". I think "talk to the hand" was from the gay population. Blacks may have exploited them in rap songs, but it doesn't mean they created them even if they popularized them. Like saying Michael Jackson started/invented the Moon Walk or Hammer the Running Man. A person or group of people may poplularize a term, but not have created/originated it. Hope this helps!
