Brandon Diau is a German born Congolese professional footballer who plays as a defender currently playing with Portadown F.C. in Northern Ireland.
Personal life[edit]
Brandon Diau was born in Bonn in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany with Congolese second nationality.
Career[edit]
Brandon Diau's footballing journey started at Bayer Leverkusen but was later let go.
In 2008, Diau joined local team Troisdorf and played impressively landing himself a contract with SV Hamburger playing for the U17's, U19's any 3rd team that plays at an amateur level before being released in 2013.
Diau when on to play for amateur sides Hilal Bergheim and TSC Euskirchen during 13/14.
In 2014, Diau signed for professional team Hapoel Afula in Israel.
In 2015, Diau dropped back down to amateur football in Germany signing for SVN Zweibrücken.
Diau joined Semi-professional sides Billericay and Burgess Hill during 16/17 and 17/18.
In February 2018, Diau started a challenge where he try's to get back to professional football in 180 which was eventually changed to 365 days which he documented on his Social Media.
During his time he landed trials with many teams from all across Europe,[1] signing contracts with small non-league teams such as Tunbridge Wells in 18/19, Truro City, Great Wakering Rovers and Kidderminster Harriers in 19/20.[2]
In 2020, Diau signed with Romanian side Pandurii but it wasn't long before Diau signed for Icelandic side Víkingur Ólafsvík.
Diau had spells in Wales with Flint Town in 22/23 and Colwyn Bay in 23/24.
Eventually he reached his goal and signed for professional side Portadown in Northern Ireland[3] in January 2024.
