Jeri-Show was a professional wrestling tag team in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)'s Raw and SmackDown brands. The team consisted of Chris Jericho and Big Show and existed throughout the second half of 2009 and early 2010.[3]

The team was formed at WWE's Night of Champions PPV in July, when Jericho chose Big Show as his injured partner, Edge's replacement for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship.[4] The team became known as Jeri-Show and held the titles for 140 days,[5][6] until they lost the titles to D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) at TLC PPV in December.[7] Following the title loss, Jeri-Show earned the 2009 Slammy Award for the Tag Team of the Year,[8] and earned their rematch for the titles on January 4, 2010 edition of Raw, but lost, causing Jeri-Show to breakup, due to Jericho's status as a SmackDown Superstar.[9]

History[edit]

Formation[edit]

At WWE's June PPV, The Bash, Edge and Chris Jericho made a makeshift tag team and won the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship from The Colons (Carlito and Primo).[10] However, their title reign did not last long as Edge suffered a tear in his Achilles tendon at a house show on July 3.[11] A title defense was announced for Edge and Jericho against The Legacy (Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase),[12] but due to the injury, Jericho was left alone with the tag titles. On July 13 edition of Raw, Jericho revealed a contract which stated that if Edge got injured, he could hold the titles on his own and replace Edge with a new partner.[13] At the July PPV Night of Champions, Jericho chose Big Show as his partner for the Unified Tag Team Championship and defeated The Legacy in a title defense.[4]

Rivalries[edit]

Cryme Tyme (SummerSlam)[edit]

Following their formation at Night of Champions, Jericho and Big Show were put into their first feud as a tag team on July 27 edition of Raw, when they confronted the guest host Shaquille O'Neal and were forced to compete against Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad) in a non-title match. Cryme Tyme won the match by disqualification.[14] As pre-match stipulated, Cryme Tyme earned a title shot against Jericho and Big Show on winning. This ignited a feud between the two teams, with JTG exchanging victories with Jericho and Big Show in Singles Matches on SmackDown.
