Contradiction?

On the Yamaha MC article it says they have 39,000 employees, where as the Yamaha corporation article (which is talking about the entire Yamaha corp) says there are 23,000 employees.. am I missing something here?Pubuman (talk) 19:36, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

It should be clearer that Yamaha Corp does not include Yamaha Motorcycles. Yamaha Motors split off in 1955, pretty much the moment they were created, leaving only two connections between them - their founder, and their logo! Yamaha Corp's ABOUT page lists its range of products omitting Motorcycles: "Since 1887, when it began producing reed organs, the Yamaha Corporation in Japan (then Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd.) has grown to become the world's largest manufacturer of a full line of musical instruments, and a leading producer of audio/visual products, semiconductors and other computer related products, sporting goods, home appliances and furniture, specialty metals, machine tools, and industrial robots ." http://ca.yamaha.com/en/about_yamaha/corporate_profile/ Yamaha's history page indicates the split in 1955, never mentiong Yamaha Motorcycles again: "1955 Establishes Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Splits off the motorcycle division)" http://ca.yamaha.com/en/about_yamaha/history/ I don't know if Yamaha Motors (car engines, generators etc) includes Yamaha Motorcycles, or if they're under the Yamaha Corp. umbrella.
