Iron carbonyl example[edit]

I'm shocked how wrong the energy diagram is. Fe(0) is a d^8 system, hence the diagrams should contain 8 rather than 6 electrons. Then you would actually get triplets as correctly stated in the text. Finally, the pentacarbonyl complex has the wrong splitting pattern (the actual geometry is trigonal bipyramidal, not square pyramidal). 2A00:8A60:C010:1:0:0:1:126E (talk) 13:02, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
