I believe this is a potentially a worthy article as Mr. Rock was the father of two noted comedians and the inspiration for a main character on a major American sitcom. While the information is currently lacking, there is potential for expansion that would shed light on the origins of a world famous, A-list actor.PeteMate 10:41, 3 October 2006 (UTC)PeteMate[reply]

Being the father of someone famous does not make that person famous or notable. Also, being the inspiration for a character on a sitcom doesn't create notability. If there is information in here that is relevant to Chris Rock, it should be included in the Chris Rock article. Aecis I'm too busy acting like I'm not naive 10:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the same measure, the wikipedia entry for Joseph Jackson is similarly invalid. Given the difficulty in gleaning information from the net on a household that launched two successful careers in comedy and is the source for information behind 'everybody hates chris', I stand by the my claim that an article on Julius Rock is notable, but I'll leave the decision with you.PeteMate 10:41, 3 October 2006 (UTC)PeteMate[reply]

Perhaps, perhaps not. If you believe that an article doesn't meet the notability guidelines, feel free to nominate it for deletion. However, that doesn't absolve this article from its "responsibilities". Since I'm involved in this discussion, I won't delete this article myself. But I would agree with its speedy deletion. Thanks. I appreciate the points raised. For any further editors that consider deleting the entry, my argument was mainly that additional information on this individual could shed light on unknown events leading up to Chris Rock's success and would be a source for any fans who seek information on the origins of the show I mentioned.PeteMate

I've added additional information regarding references to julius in the born suspect album. If the article survives long enough, I will continue to add any verifiable info to further establish notability.PeteMate 22:55, 3 October 2006 (UTC)PeteMate[reply]
