I expanded this article in response to a proposed deletion. I think that Blume is noteworthy. The majority of his media appearances have been radio, TV, and public speaking events, many hundreds from the 1980s which are not source-able here. Recent recordings of him, being non-text media, are not easily citable. The primary source for text-based information about Blume is his own website and a few newspaper articles. Most recent news-outlet articles that mention Blume are just a press release from his organization.
Noteworthy because:
- Forward to book is written by Buckminster Fuller, who is very famous.
- Book is very popular (#2,913 in books at Amazon on Nov 25 2008, one year after release).
- Book and teachings are topical to current issues of local food, fuel vs food, big agribusiness, etc etc.
- Loudest advocate for ecologically-integrated production of ethanol fuel in America.
- He's perhaps the loudest advocate for permaculture in America -- a movement which has gotten much more attention in Australia/Oceania and the third world.

Blume is a nutcase and not worth taking seriously. Noteworthy? No more so than any loon pitching colon cleaners on cable TV in the wee hours of the night.

- Do you have a source which refutes any of Mr. Blumes arguments? If not, then please refrain from making frivolous statements that are potentially libelous. And what specifically is there about this rockefeller argument that is proof he is insane. While i have not read his argument, or heard it before, neither myself nor anyone else familiar with the history of corporate capitalism would put it past the rockefellers to do such a thing. So this is not prima facie (sp) evidence for blume being a "nutcase". Everything i have heard him say makes sense to me, and i dont believe i am a nutcase, and i have studied environmental science to a fair depth. I will attempt to add more sources, esp. contrary reliable sources (remembering to not give undue weight to either side), which always help round out articles on strong advocates for uncommon positions.(mercurywoodrose)75.61.142.114 (talk) 18:55, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

It created sensationalist stories to demonize hemp and eliminate the competition. I'm not a hemp supporter, but this is a good example of an obvious ulterior motive.
