Linderman's first name.[edit]

Niki calls him "Bill" as she and D.L. phase into the room. She may be calling him this for other reasons but the most prevalent is - it's his name. Padillah 15:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, what I hear is "Beewww" which could be "Boo" or "Bill". It's very poor sound at that point and her lips don't move (you can tell it was ADR'd). The closed caption has her saying "Bill". There is no doubt about that. If you have the ability to turn on CC try it and rewatch the episode. Until something more definitive can be found, I stand by "Bill", but I'm not going to start an edit war over it. Padillah 15:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? It was never a big secret. It was never actively concealed (like HRG's was). Besides, "call me Noah" may be dramatic for you but it's kind of "how real people introduce themselves" to me. Like I said, I don't think it's worth getting into an edit war over, he's a minor character in three episodes. If his influence wasn't so strong he'd almost be un-noteworthy. Okay, having seen the linked video from the original poster, I don't see the problem. It is evident that he is dead and that his name is Daniel, and as captions cannot be held as reliable, this is the highest canon we have, and the page should be moved to Daniel Linderman. Wait, isn't it Wikipedia convention to use the name that is most commonly recognized? If so, shouldn't his page still be titled "Mr. Linderman", but include his first name in the description. The average person or general viewer who is watching the show won't know his first name, only that he goes by "Mr. Linderman" or "Linderman". We could have redirects for "Daniel Linderman". "Most common" in what was basically a small part of one series of a TV show is a bit tenuous. Further, Wikipedia generally discourages the use of titles in bio articles. The practice *is* to go with most common, and as such I've reverted the page move. For the vast majority of Heroes fans, the character will be known primarily as "Mr. Linderman". As per below, it would have been best to allow discussion to finish before making the move - especially as you're aware of what happened with Noah Bennet. One difference here is that with Bennet, the character's name was announced in the series, and he remains active. Linderman, on the other hand, has only been named "Mr. Linderman" on screen, and (as he's now dead) it is unknown as to how or if he'll be referred to again. --Ckatz^chat _spy 20:02, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

Wikipedia generally discourages the use of titles in bio articles. There's no particularly good reason to use just his last name (Noah's wasn't mentioned until five seconds before the end of the first season) and a couple of good ones (clarity, MoS concerns) to use his first.
