The description of Roman law seems off. The article seems to weakly imply that the law quoted was to the benefit of the buyer (“could be released...”). The law as translated seems very much to be about protecting the state from default by tax harvester who cannot afford the price they have bid.

Thoughts? Not sure if there’s a source somewhere that can provide a basis for this page.
