Reversion[edit]

I am a bit put out by the terse reversion of my edit. I understand the appeal to prior-year precedent, but all changes have to start somewhere. The three-letter codes are useful where space is at a premium, but that's not the case in the affiliation changes table; there's plenty of room to spell out the city names. Spelling them out is more encyclopedic and less almanac-y, and it better serves our readers who aren't as familiar with the three-letter codes. I also think it's important to spell out that Winnipeg is the former Atlanta franchise, for the benefit of readers unfamiliar with the recent news. Powers T 14:11, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So, just by writing this in the talk page makes it okay to do whatever you want? Last time I checked Wikipedia was about consensus, and I fail to see where your opinion counts as consensus. If it is shown that the way it was done in the past is wrong, then it will be fine to change things going forward.Weatherman05071 (talk) 19:24, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I made my case and no one bothered to refute it. I waited, but lack of communication won't stop me from being bold. Do you care to actually put up an argument against making the change? Powers T 15:00, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
