He signed with Dvpper Music in 2023,[5] and rose to fame with his single "Elon Musk".[6] It moderately entered the TurnTable chart, while his debut studio album Presido La Pluto (2023) peaked at number one on the TurnTable Top 50[7] and debuted atop Apple Music top 100 albums.[8][9] His second studio album, Shakespopi (2024), was met with continued success as it became Shallipopi's second chart-topping album. Its lead single "ASAP" reached number one on the TurnTable Top 100.[10][11]

Career[edit]

Shallipopi started his career creating and sharing freestyles on TikTok and other social media platforms. He gained a breakthrough with the release of his debut single "Elon Musk" in January 2023.[12]

On June 20, 2023, Apple Music announced Shallipopi as the latest featured artist in its Up Next program in Nigeria.[13][14] He then released the remix of "Elon Musk" featuring Fireboy DML and Zlatan on June 30,[15][16] followed by the single "Ex-Convict" on July 7, which debuted at number 6 on the TurnTable Top 100.[17][18]

On July 11, 2023, Shallipopi released his EP, Planet Pluto.[19] Later that year, on October 17, 2023, he launched his own record label named Plutomania Records and simultaneously signed music acts Zerry DL and Tega Boi.[20][21]
