Question from W;ChangingUsername (22:55, 1 June 2024)[edit]
I'm trying to make all of the phrasing for breathing problems redirect to this page: https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Breathing_problems#
I got it, however
Just for future reference, how would I make pages actually redirect there? I don't think it's safe to link a bunch of pages to this template because of a 'transcending bug' or something
Is it possible to make a buncu of non existent pages redirect to a page from search, or is that too dangerous to allow? Thanks
--W;ChangingUsername (talk) 22:55, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- @W;ChangingUsername, I'd suggest you take a look at the guideline for redirects. Generally, only the commonly mispelled variants will be redirected to a target. Let me know if you have other questions, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 01:42, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- OK, I'll have another look at the redirects page with a fresh mind. Thanks
- And i think everything ended up fine W;ChangingUsername (talk) 01:00, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

Astravets Nuclear Power Plant[edit]
May I ask why you undid my change to the "Astravets Nuclear Power Plant" article as purported vandalism? All informations are factual, sourced, and provide a particular perspective. ―83.8.38.183 (talk) 21:32, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
- Wow thanks for pointing that out. (I have no clue what I was thinking, I thought you had moved stuff around and added an unsourced paragraph) Undone. Apologies! I also removed the message from your talk page :). Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 21:35, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oh well, I guess things happen! No problem at all. =) Thank you for your quick reaction and response. All the best! ―83.8.38.183 (talk) 21:43, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The software used to render SVG files has been updated to a new version, fixing many longstanding bugs in SVG rendering. [6]
- The HTML used to render all headings is being changed to improve accessibility. It was changed last week in some skins (Vector legacy and Minerva). Please test gadgets on your wiki on these skins and report any related problems so that they can be resolved before this change is made in Vector-2022. The developers are still considering the introduction of a Gadget API for adding buttons to section titles if that would be helpful to tool creators, and would appreciate any input you have on that.
- The HTML markup used for citations by Parsoid changed last week. In places where Parsoid previously added the
mw-reference-text
class, Parsoid now also adds thereference-text
class for better compatibility with the legacy parser. More details are available. [7]
Problems
- There was a bug with the Content Translation interface that caused the tools menus to appear in the wrong location. This has now been fixed. [8]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 11 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 12 June. It will be on all wikis from 13 June (calendar). [9][10]
- The new version of MediaWiki includes another change to the HTML markup used for citations: Parsoid will now generate a
<span class="mw-cite-backlink">
wrapper for both named and unnamed references for better compatibility with the legacy parser. Interface administrators should verify that gadgets that interact with citations are compatible with the new markup. More details are available. [11] - On multilingual wikis that use the
<translate>
system, there is a feature that shows potentially-outdated translations with a pink background until they are updated or confirmed. From this week, confirming translations will be logged, and there is a new user-right that can be required for confirming translations if the community requests it. [12]

Question from Priyam1809 (10:47, 11 June 2024)[edit]
hi, i want to make a wiki page about mysenlf and my organisation. how can i create that --Priyam1809 (talk) 10:47, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Priyam1809, and welcome to Wikipedia!I'd first like to warn you about a couple of points. First, writing an article is about the hardest thing you can do on Wikipedia, and if this is your first time editing, I highly discourage you from starting that way. Instead, there are other smaller tasks that you can do to get started knowing the ropes of this online encyclopedia. Second, I'd also like to point out that Wikipedia is not a means to promote your business. It is an encyclopedia, not a blog, and will only accepts articles about companies if these meet the notability crtieria.So, if these two points did not succeed in discouraging you from writing an article about your own company, you may check out this complete help topic on creating an article. Note that, most important of all, you will need to declare that you are being paid to edit.Let me know if you have any questions!Cheers, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 12:56, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
