Nationality/citizenship[edit]

Obviously he is Irish; but as his knighthood does not appear to be honorary (I should say is definitively not honorary after viewing The London Gazette), he must hold UK citizenship as well, no?? Otherwise he could not call himself Sir as an honorary recipient but only use the postnomials if he chooses. Anyone know what's going on?? Quis separabit? 18:55, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Born in 1958, he would have parents born prior to 1949- and would be elligible for British citizenship, also resident since 1991 in the UK so this is another route. But I cant find a source for him taking out such. His sister was with him when he recieved it, and all other info but nothing to say he has taken citizenship, which is what we need.
