- The United States Food and Drug Administration approves Enfuvirtide (trade name Fuzeon), a new AIDS drug that acts as an entry inhibitor.
- Massoud Rajavi one of the two leaders of People's Mujahedin of Iran (an Iranian political-militant organisation) disappears during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and has not been seen since.[1]
