What's going on with Moriori Enslavement[edit]

Hello. I wanna know do I have to do more with the Moriori Enslavement article? I thought I would've gotten a notification about it by now. I51iM (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Hi @I51iM, you need to click the blue resubmit button in the decline notice to submit it for review. S0091 (talk) 16:21, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I resubmitted. I51iM (talk) 16:40, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi I51iM! Sorry for the late reply, but it looks like you do not have more to do. You have resubmitted for another reviewer to give his thoughts on the article. ToadetteEdit! 01:07, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks for the response. I was hoping you would be the one to review and approve it but whatever. I51iM (talk) 22:55, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Colin William Wyatt[edit]

Hello, ToadetteEdit. You have new messages at User1's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

.

Hello. The template tells me to click 'new section' but I do not see a tab 'new section'. I replied to your message on my talk page. I did not realise I had to alert you here to the fact I had done so. I would be grateful for clarification and further advice. Also you or another has changed the title of this draft submission from Colin William fforde Wyatt to Colin William Wyatt. Is this to identify the second draft submission? Because this would be an incorrect title for a final version. I would prefer to use the simple "Colin Wyatt". I only began with the subject's full name because of another Colin Wyatt. Thank you. IonaFyne (talk) 15:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @IonaFyne! The article was moved per policy on article titles, that articles on subjects should be titled based on commonly recognizable names documented by reliable sources. As for the decline, if it is because it is "not adequately supported by reliable sources", then I found some passages unsourced. If the decline was about notability, I would advise you to read the notability guideline, especially those on people. If you are referring to I only began with the subject's full name because of another Colin Wyatt, then I suggest that it would be disambiguated. Hope that helps! ToadetteEdit! 01:02, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you again for your reply (17 May). Your help is much appreciated.
I redrafted and submitted my article based on reading Wikipedia guidance articles and Wikipedia entries in order to understand and follow Wikipedia requirements.
On 7 May, I asked if I might have further assistance relating to the decline of the submission as "not adequately supported by reliable sources". This was because I am struggling to understand when it is permissible to refer to writings by the subject and when it is not permissible. May I have clarification on this, please?
I had provided references to articles by the subject in entomology journals and in alpine journals but then removed them because I was told that it is not permissible to reference articles written by the subject.
But, for example, Wikipedia has allowed such references for its entry on Chris Bonington:
Bonington, Chris (1988). "Menlungtse Attempt". American Alpine Journal. 30 (62). New York, NY USA: American Alpine Club: 275–278. ISBN 0-930410-33-5.
^ Bonington, Chris (1989). "Menlungtse Western Summit". American Alpine Journal. 31 (63). New York, NY USA: American Alpine Club: 284–286. ISBN 0-930410-39-4.
I had put in references to magazine articles by the subject because I had a message that sources had to be cited.
But, for example, Wikipedia, for Robert Macfarlane (writer), allows this general paragraph with NO sources cited:
"He has also published many reportage and travel essays in magazines, especially Granta and Archipelago, as well as numerous introductory essays to reissues of lost and neglected classics of landscape and nature writing from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, notably J. A. Baker (The Peregrine) and Nan Shepherd (The Living Mountain and In The Cairngorms)."
Once again, I really do appreciate your help with this. IonaFyne (talk) 14:43, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my message of 21 May. I am sorry - I forgot to end it with the four tildes.
I notice that these tildes do not show in the preview of this message. But they are here - once with the brackets and once without the brackets.

Review of Draft: Bryan Leach[edit]

Hi friend! Several weeks ago, the draft for Bryan Leach was declined due to the references not showing that the subject qualifies for page. I updated the draft to include some more complete information based on comments from other editors and also added some more extensive sources like the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance and NY Times. The company which Bryan Leach founded went public last month and there has been more coverage with additional details. Would you be kind enough to take a look and see if this has satisfied the bar for a new page. Thanks so much! Flyguyz93 (talk) 16:34, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Flyguyz93! I have specifically declined as some statements were unsourced, contrary to the verification policy. But as I could remember, it should have been accepted as I've mistakenly declined it. My apologies but it may be accepted. Hope that helps! ToadetteEdit! 00:51, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ToadetteEditThis is great news! Would you go back and complete the approval process on that draft or is there something I need to do? Flyguyz93 (talk) 12:34, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ToadetteEdit I wanted to check back in with you on this draft. Would you be able to approve it or do I need to resubmit first. Not sure of the best way to proceed. Please let me know. Thanks!! Flyguyz93 (talk) 13:29, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover granted[edit]

Hello, ToadetteEdit. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

You moved Sanusi Lamido Sanusi incorrectly. We don't do technical requests for controversial moves, and when there has been previous discussion of the move, it is always treated as controversial. DrKay (talk) 16:35, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, this should have resulted in a new discussion instead. ToadetteEdit! 17:15, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 21:48:47, 25 May 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by Eisbergsk[edit]

Hi Toadette. I have added ISSN numbers and publishers for most of my references, and created a gallery of jpg and pdf images on the Wilf Perreault page. Could you give it a glance and let me know if I should resubmit? Thank you so much for all your help and advice!
